We celebrated the last days of school leading up to winter break with a Preschool Pancake Party, an out of uniform pajama day, a Christmas raffle, and announced the winners of the Knights of Columbus “Keep Christ in Christmas” poster contest! Thank you to our wonderful teachers, staff and parents that make these traditions possible. And, of course, a huge thank you to our sponsors, who make so many of the good things that happen here at St. Hubert School possible!
Families of preschoolers and kindergarteners are invited to join us on January 28 for a morning of fun with cookie decorating, games, music, and even an indoor snowball fight! We hope to see you there. Sign up today!
Our Nativity Scene continues to grow! Classes continue to add a piece a day to the crèche, read an Advent reflection, and pray in front of the crèche. Congratulations to our 6/7 grade Boys Basketball team on their first-place finish at the Saints Peter & Paul 46th Annual Trojan Classic Basketball Tournament! To get in the holiday spirit, our Junior and Senior Bands performed at the Winter Band Concert. All of our students showcased their talents at the “Songs of the Season & The Greatest Story Ever Told” Christmas Music Program featuring performances from our preschool through eighth graders. Merry Christmas St. Hubert!
Our Nativity Scene is growing! Classes continue to add a piece a day to the crèche, read an Advent Reflection and pray in front of the crèche. Our preschoolers celebrated St. Nicholas Day and our eighth graders led this week’s school Mass celebrating the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Many thanks to our FSA (Family & School Association) volunteers who made this week's Santa Sale possible. The students loved shopping for everyone on their lists! Students were knighted in recognition for their accomplishments at our Knights recognition ceremony and our sixth graders graduated from the DARE program.
We continue our daily Advent reflections at the crèche. These reflections started with our 7th graders praying in front of the empty manger. Each day another class adds a piece to the Nativity Scene, reads a reflection and prays before the manger. Our Preschoolers created Advent Wreaths and our Junior High students made Advent Pledges during Faith this week to kick off the Advent season. They are all “hung with care” on their lockers to remind them daily of their pledge to focus on Christ during this important season of waiting.
Thanks to our first and second graders, who hosted this week's school Mass. We welcomed our preschoolers to Mass for the first time this year, as is part of our Advent tradition. They were each paired with an eighth-grade buddy. Our Third Graders were so excited to reach our i-Ready goal. They scored 100% on 100 lessons in Reading and Math! We celebrated with a donut party!! Our Kindergarteners, pictured on the right, celebrated Mickey Mouse's 94th birthday with arts and crafts.
Every Friday, our 8th graders take a break from their studies to participate in energizers and team building activities from our school-wide Caring School Communities curriculum. This week, they paired up for a shape sorting challenge that helped them strengthen their listening skills and communication skills. We are grateful for our students, staff, school families and parish community that makes St. Hubert School such a wonderful place to learn and grow. You make these achievements possible!

Our students, staff and FSA prepared a beautiful ceremony to honor our veterans. Our band and choir performed, the first and second graders sang “You’re a Grand Ole’ Flag,” and some of our eighth graders shared their Patriot Pen Essays. A very special thank you to VFW Post 5151 for the presentation of and retirement of the colors. Thank you to all who attended. God bless our veterans!

All three junior high Faith classes attended a mini-retreat with Fr. Mike. He taught students about Eucharistic Adoration and all the different ways we can pray and feel closer to Jesus. Our preschool students went on a field trip to the fire station and followed it up with in class fire safety demonstrations with a firefighter. To view the entire photo album, scan the QR code. We celebrated the first day of school with an Ice Cream Social and ended the week with a Night Under the Stars. This week we welcomed new families and are excited to get the year started. Please continue to be our ambassadors and share with all the people you know the many things that make a St. Hubert School’s faith-based education the very best option to choose when looking for a school. Don’t forget that if you recommend a family that registers at St. Hubert’s you will get a $250 tuition credit. We look to you, our current families, to share the good news about what is here and continues to be here as we enter the 2022-2023 school year!
This July, our very own fine arts teacher, Miss. Cooper, led a two week musical summer camp. Participants memorized lines, rehearsed musical numbers, and practiced choreography in preparation for the end of camp performance. Congratulations to the cast of Jungle Book, Jr., who put on a spectacular performance. We can’t wait to see what the coming year brings for our talented students!
Over the past two weeks we hosted a musical camp. The highlight was a performance of The Jungle Book Jr. on the last day of camp. We look forward to sharing pictures of this performance with you next week.
