We’re blessed to have a diverse faith community—including vocationally. This past Sunday, Brother Exequiel Mapa, CFA, professed his perpetual vows (also known as “final vows”) in the chapel at Alexian Brothers Hospital. It was a beautiful celebration. We’re blessed that Brother Zeke calls Saint Hubert his parish home.
The Institute for Diaconal Studies (IDS) invites all men who feel the gentle nudge of the Holy Spirit to attend an Exploring the Diaconate session. It is a time to pray, discuss, and learn more about the discernment process and the formation program that aspirants and candidates pursue. Please join us, with your wives, if married, as we explore the potential of a vocation, engage in dialogue and pray in search of the next step. All are welcome to attend any of the sessions.
Thank you for your prayers and support for our parishioner, Jazmine Rangel who officially began her second year of formation with the Salesian Sisters. She entered what’s known in religious life as “Postulancy.” She would very much appreciate hearing from you if you’d like to drop her a line, and said she’s good at writing back (and she is!). Open this article for her address.
If you do feel the Holy Spirit’s gentle nudge toward diaconal ministry, please contact us so we can answer all your questions about the four-year formation program leading to ordination. If married, wives and family play a vital role in formation and discernment.
