A lot is going on at St. Hubert! We have resumed Baptisms, Reconciliation and celebrated our first weddings since reopening our doors. First Holy Communion, Confirmation and the Sacraments of Initiation are all being celebrated over the next few weeks. And, our seminarian, David Jameson will join us for Mass on August 2 to share about his pastoral internship.
Tomorrow, July 26th, a special drive-by/drop-off Food Drive will be held to help support our neighboring parish Food Pantry at Church of the Holy Spirit. You can drop off food and food cards between 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM at the drive thru by the Main Entrance of St. Hubert Church.
We'd like to believe that when needing support, we all have a family member or friend close by to help out. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Or, perhaps, a great deal of support is needed requiring more support than family members are able to provide. The Helping Hands Ministry was formed to assist members in our parish, free of charge, in various ways. To request assistance or to volunteer, please contact the St. Hubert front desk at 847-885-7700, ext. 102.
All students will safely be welcome back for a full day on instruction. See our website, StHubertSchool.org for the complete Archdiocese Reopening Plan. Now Registering Preschool - 8th Grade.
The blood drive previously scheduled for Sunday, August 9, has been cancelled. The next drive will be on Sunday, November 8. It will be dedicated to Gayle Photikarm. In the meantime , donors are asked to donate at the Schaumburg Blood Center located on Golf Road in Schaumburg. Register online at Vitalant.org or call 877-258-4825 and use code STO2.
On Sunday, July 26th, a special drive-by/drop-off Food Drive will be held to help support our neighboring parish Food Pantry at Church of the Holy Spirit. You can drop off food and food cards between 11:30 AM and 2:00 PM at the drive thru by the Main Entrance of St. Hubert Church.
A Spiritual Communion Prayer Service will be available every Sunday throughout this time when we do not have regular Masses. It is patterned after the Mass, is unique to St. Hubert with a reflection by Fr. Mike, and provides a way to keep our community connected and in prayer. When we cannot receive the Eucharist in person, we can still receive it by desire. Spiritual Communion is a profound prayer of longing to be with Christ. If you have a crucifix or an image of Christ on holy card or a statue, consider using it as a focal point for your time of prayer.
Perhaps the best way to share with you the meaningful work the Helping Hands Ministry provides is through a letter written by a fellow parishioner and recipient thanking her Helping Hands volunteer for all his support.
On July 5th we had over 70 cars go through our Drive By/Drop-Off Collection Point to drop off food and donations for Jewel Cards during our Food Drive for Church of the Holy Spirit Food Pantry. We were able to fill up 5 cars/SUVs from the Church of the Holy Spirit with the donated food, which was then delivered to their Food Pantry. Their volunteers were amazed and very appreciative of the abundant generosity of our parishioners to help those who come to them weekly for assistance with food. I want to thank the volunteers who helped with the Food Drive and to also thank you, our parishioners, for your generosity in helping make this Food Drive a success. Your actions show God’s love and presence within our faith community here at St. Hubert and how it also reaches out and is shared with others in need in our area.
Please join us at 9:30 AM for a Job Support Group, at 6:00 PM for July 13 Job Seeker's Exchange, and at 7:00 PM for Navigating The Steps Toward Landing Your Next Opportunity. Check out our other upcoming programs
