Gratitude …. Gratitude is the best attitude. Ever since, I arrived at St. Hubert, I felt at home with all of you. You all welcomed me with open heart and mind, and appreciated my humble contribution, even as I struggle to fulfill my priestly ministry. I will be even indebted to you all. Your commitment to the Lord and parish ministries has enriched my faith. My sincere prayer to God to bless you all with His choicest blessings and graces, and keep you united in His love.
There will be a special blessing this weekend for the prayer shawls that were created by members of the St. Hubert Prayer Shawl Ministry. The blessing will take place during the 4:30 Saturday Mass and on Sunday during the 7:30, 9:00 and 10:45 AM Masses. Shawls will also be available in the narthex after these Masses for anyone who could use the physical and spiritual comfort that these shawls provide. There is no charge, but donations are accepted to help defray the cost of the yarn and other materials needed for the ministry.
For centuries, the Catholic Church has set aside the entire month of May to honor Mary, the Mother of God. Every Friday morning at 6:30 a.m., we gather in Church to pray the rosary before the 7:00 a.m. Mass. We will also be praying the rosary on Monday, May 13th, at 6:30 a.m. in honor of Our Lady of Fatima. It would be wonderful if you could join us in this beautiful prayer. If you are unable to join us, perhaps you could find time to pray the rosary at home.

With profound sorrow, we offer our prayers to the Christian community of Sri Lanka, and all those devastated by today’s horrific acts of violence, killings carried out while Christians offered their own prayers of gratitude on this great feast of hope, Easter Sunday. In solidarity with the survivors and their loved ones, we grieve the dead and pray for God to heal the wounded, comfort the mourners, and instill ever more deeply in all peoples a commitment to peace, which our creator fervently desires for all his children.
