Like most Catholics of my generation, I was baptized as an infant shortly after birth. It wasn't until many years later as an adult that I finally at last understood what it meant. I came to realize that through my baptism I was reborn into a new family of believers where I would come to feel the power of those wonderful virtues promised through Baptism—love, kindness and, most of all, forgiveness.
