Our dedicated members will begin their 11
th year of creating lovely Prayer Shawls for the St. Hubert Community when we have our 1
st Fall meeting on Sunday, September 11 at 1:15 PM in the
Dorothy Day Room of the Parish Ministry Center.
What is a Prayer Shawl? It is a knitted or crocheted shawl that has been made with special prayers woven into the stitches. It is a tangible reminder to the recipient that he/she is covered in God's love when using the shawl. It can bring comfort to the sick or those grieving a loss or also to bring joy as we celebrate a special event. We've given out over 1,000 shawls through the years and have been rewarded with wonderful stories from recipients. There is no charge for a Prayer Shawl, but we do accept donations that enable us to purchase yarn and the materials needed for our endeavors.
We meet monthly from Fall through Spring to share ideas, support each other, and to pray for those receiving the shawls. Our meetings are filled with joy, prayer, and sharing stories. Members range from Teens to Seniors and we are always happy to welcome new members. Yarn and directions are provided and we will even teach you to knit or crochet. Won't you consider joining our dedicated group?
