Today marks the 15
th anniversary of what is now referred to as nine eleven. If you have a chance to visit New York City I suggest you see the site and the museum. After much debate and controversy, they have established a beautiful memorial to the victims and their families. Please continue to pray for them and their families. In addition, we will have a special prayer at all the Masses today and continue to pray always for peace in our world.
On Tuesday of this week, at 6:30 p.m., I will be meeting with a new search committee for a Music Director. I anticipate having a Director in place by Advent or the New Year. Thankfully, Siobhan prepared music until Advent, and our accompanists and cantors are able to handle this transitional situation.
Member of the committee are:
Yvonne Cassa, (Chair) Liturgy Coordinator
Chris Severin, Accompanist
Melissa Barber-Tarolla, Cantor
Mark Fijalkiewicz, Young Adult Choir
Diane Kostecki, Sunday Choir
Dan Owens, Percussionist
Roger Malinski, PPC and parishioner-at- large (bringing knowledge from comments on Long Range Pastoral Plan.)
The job description is listed with the Website of the Archdiocese and the National Pastoral Musicians. Presuming we have a good number of candidates, the committee will interview and give me 3 candidates with their order of preference. This person will then meet with the staff and PPC for final comments before a job offer is made. If anyone in the parish has any suggestions or comments about a new Music Director. Please do not hesitate to contact me about this very important ministry here at St. Hubert.
After this Tuesday meeting, I have invited the choirs and cantors to meet with me at 8:00 p.m. Anyone from the parish may come to this meeting in church.
Please pray that God will send us a competent, faith-filled person to lead us in our liturgical music.
Rev. Robert C. Rizzo
