Meet Our New Seminarian! Mundelein Seminary has assigned us a third seminarian as part of their Tolton Teaching Parish Program in addition to JohnPaul Stedwill and Jonathan Puckett. Please welcome Luke Olson, also studying for the Diocese of Peoria. Luke Olson 1st Theology, Diocese of Peoria My name is Luke Olson, I am a seminarian studying for the Diocese of Peoria. I hail from Moline, Illinois, one of the Quad Cities. I am the second oldest of six; I have four sisters and one brother. My siblings and I were homeschooled by my mother through high school. Because of a strong Catholic environment while growing up; I received excellent catechesis and developed an intrigue around the priesthood from a younger age, but really didn’t do that much to enter into this initial draw toward priesthood nor thought much of the intrigue. At the age of thirteen I began altar serving at my home parish, which was pivotal in my reception of God’s call. As an extension of my altar serving training, I began to attend a few daily Masses each week with my family so I could have more opportunities to serve. While serving I experienced a deeper conversion in my faith and an ever-increasing desire for the life of a priest. I entered college Seminary in 2019 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary in Winona, MN. I recently finished up my studies at IHM seminary, where I received immense confidence in my discernment and through which the Lord continues to wondrously transform my heart to that of Jesus’ own heart. I now attend Mundelein Seminary where I will remain until I am, God willing, ordained in 2027. As part of my seminary formation, I have been entrusted to being with you, where I look forward to continuing to encounter all of you and contribute what I can to help the parish.
