Do you have an older child who has not been baptized?
Do you have a son or daughter who is past the age of seven or eight who has not received First Communion?
Children’s Ministry of Initiation (CMI) is modeled after the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). CMI at St. Hubert is designed for children who are un-baptized or un-catechized. Together with their parents, children attend classes. CMI takes the children through a four step process beginning with the Inquiry period, where the families get to know one another and share their experiences of God and Church. Next is the Catechumenate period, where the families continue to learn about the Catholic Church and its beliefs. The Purification & Enlightenment period follows. This is a time that coincides with Lent, during which prayer and reflection bring about a sense of need for conversion, culminating with the reception of the appropriate Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil.
