Catholic Charities New Hope Apartments: A Transitional Housing Program for Homeless Families February, 2019 Update
Family #30 Our mom is still on track for reaching her goals and things seem to be falling into place. Issues she had previously had with her neighbors have quieted down. However, she still plans to move when her lease is up in August. Her goal is to remain in the community because the kids are well adjusted and enjoy going to their neighborhood school.
Mom is doing well and continues to build her savings. She plans to file her taxes in the beginning of April and will add her anticipated refund to her savings account.
Goals:
● Save up at least 3 month’s rent
● Obtain a CNA certificate
● Secure affordable housing before June 2019
Family #31 Our mom is doing better and continues to work at a restaurant. Things are going well and she reported they want to promote her to a Manager position. She feels ready to accept the position. She realizes it may be challenging because things are unorganized; however, she feels confident that she can get things running smoothly. She is also training for a part-time job as a server. Both jobs are necessary, since each one is part time.
Kids are doing great! Dad is back and helping as much as he can. They are getting along well co-parenting.
Goals:
● Save up at least 3 months rent
● Attend work and school as scheduled
● Apply for low income housing
● Look for full-time employment
● Save up for a car
Our moms and kids are doing very well thanks to your continued support for our families. It has truly been a blessing having assisted 31 families with these awesome Peace and Justice Cluster parishioners!
