Recap: This family consists of a mother with two daughters ages 14 and 7 years old.
This family has great news! She was next on the waiting list for low income (Section 8) housing in Elgin. With this program, she will be required to pay only 30% of her income. She is hopeful that she will be ready to move by the end of her lease. She is very excited and feels some relief knowing that she will be moving into affordable housing.
Her children are doing well and they are excited about starting school in mid-August. She is still employed at her summer job and when the summer is over she will return to her job at the school.
This family sends gratitude to our cluster Parishioners! New Hope joins this family as we celebrate this client’s victory!
Family #27
Recap: Single mom with a son.
Our mom had a setback. She admitted herself into the hospital because of depression. She has since been released and is working to improve her mental health. She maintains her work schedule and now is playing catch up with her rent. She reported that she got overwhelmed in trying to keep up with her car, which has been an issue for a few months now. However, she is feeling better since she sought appropriate help for her condition.
Her son is doing well and also excited about starting school in August. He continues to receive services through the Kenneth Young Center.
This family is so grateful to be a part of the Peace and Justice cluster of Parishes! New Hope sends sincere gratitude to all of your parishioners!
