Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! Thank you for your continued support of Catholic Education, specifically St. Hubert Catholic School. As a ministry of the church, St. Hubert Catholic School works hard every day at growing servant leaders from the inside out, while maximizing the potential of every child. We celebrate the essential role we play in preparing our students to become successful scholars, responsible citizens, and
faith-filled Catholics who will have a life-long relationship with God.
This year, we are pleased to report we surpassed our enrollment goals. Our lower grade levels are growing, and we could not be more thankful to have the opportunity to share our Catholic faith with a new generation of God’s children.
Last year, in my new role as principal, I identified four areas of focus and this year I am pleased to report the following progress we made in a year’s time:
Curriculum. St. Hubert Catholic School has always had a strong academic record. Our students consistently perform above the national average in reading and math. In an effort to continue, and strengthen this success record, this year we adopted new curriculum in math and science. Last year, we only anticipated being able to afford a new math curriculum. But because of a very generous donation to our technology program, it freed up funds so that we could also adopt a new school-wide science curriculum.
We achieved this goal earlier than planned.St. Hubert Catholic School also remains a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) School. Unlike many schools, we are fortunate to still be able to offer our students weekly classes in Spanish, Gym, Art and Music. Students in grades PK-8
th now receive Spanish instruction two times per week. Moreover, students have the opportunity to be a part of a band program (led by the same band director for over thirty years!), a youth choir, and several after school clubs, which include Chess Scholars, I-Cook, Lego Robotics and Young Rembrandts.
Technology. Our dreams of becoming a 1:1 school are well underway and ahead of schedule. Students in grades 2, 4 and 6 through 8 now have their very own i-Pad. Five of our teachers have earned Apple Certified status. Next year, we will purchase i-Pads for the remaining grades: 1st, 3rd and 5th. This goal would never have been possible without the financial help of a family who believes in the value and impact of a quality, Catholic Education. This happened through our 2020 Vision Capital Campaign.
Marketing. St. Hubert School now has a Director of Marketing. Mrs. Lori Capesius has been instrumental in getting the word out about our school and increasing our enrollment. Additionally, our computer teacher, Mrs. Shannon McGreal, is now heading our Alumni Committee to help keep us connected.
Staff Appreciation. We understand the value of our teachers and the impact they have on our students. We continue to find ways to recognize them and thank them for that commitment. This is a goal that will always be in front of us.
Thank you all for your continued support of our school and of Catholic Education. We are an essential player in forming the next generation of Catholics. Please keep us in your prayers and come visit us. Father Mike and I are humbled and honored to serve you.
