Gratitude …. Gratitude is the best attitude. Ever since, I arrived at St. Hubert, I felt at home with all of you. You all welcomed me with open heart and mind, and appreciated my humble contribution, even as I struggle to fulfill my priestly ministry. I will be even indebted to you all. Your commitment to the Lord and parish ministries has enriched my faith. St. Hubert is a beautiful and vibrant faith-community and I was blessed to be part of this family, although for a short time, but memorable one. My sincere prayer to God to bless you all with His choicest blessings and graces, and keep you united in His love.
Life is a journey. It is wonderful to meet so many beautiful and loving people on the way. Your encouraging words and loving smiles spoke volumes of your generosity and faith, and I will treasure it. I received more than I ever gave, which makes me feel humble. All that I have – I received from God and from the people of God. I have nothing that I can call my own. It would be shameful for me knowing that the unthankful heart discovers no mercies; but the thankful heart will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings. Hence, gratitude is the attitude to vest for a happy living. Therefore, all I ask of you is forever to remember me as loving you.
Once and only once we pass this way. But, for the disciples of the Lord, earthly journey is not the end, but just a step into eternity. So, as I say good bye … farewell, it is not the end of our relationship, but a step into eternity. Let me conclude with an Irish blessing:
May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
