Building up the Body of Christ with welcoming arms, loving hearts and joyful worship.
A catechist should be a person of faith, as well as a faithful member of the community. Catechists have a basic understanding of Church teaching, are able to communicate well with children, be willing to learn and should be able to follow a lesson plan.
There are training opportunities offered throughout the year. The Director of Lifelong Faith Formation will meet with new catechists individually to ensure that they are comfortable going into the classroom. The best support for catechists may be the regular monthly meetings with other catechists at their grade level, where they pray together and plan their lessons for the next month.
Children's Faith Formation classes are on Wednesdays after school, Saturday mornings or Sunday mornings.
There are 24 classes in the school year, which meet September through April. Classes are held in St. Hubert School or St. Matthew.... There are monthly planning meetings.
